In our globally networked world of work, intercultural competencies are in demand. Therefore, the Haniel Foundation supports young people with scholarships for studying abroad. It runs two scholarship programmes of its own and also supports the McCloy Academic Scholarship Program.
The Haniel Foundation also offers a scholarship programme for foreign students. In the Haniel China Scholarship Program, the Haniel Foundation gives four Chinese students per year the opportunity to study for a bachelor's degree at the East Asia Institute in Ludwigshafen. As part of its sponsorship of the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy, the Haniel Foundation also grants cost of living allowances for students from Central and Eastern Europe who would like to study the Master of Public Policy course at the Willy Brandt School. Applications take place directly at the Willy Brandt School. Further information can be found here.
Particularly gifted pupils from Germany and eight central and eastern European countries look beyond their national boundaries with support from the Haniel Foundation. Approximately 130 youngsters are invited to participate in the Multinational Pupils' Academies of the Bildung und Begabung GmbH association each year. They come to Bavaria or Saxony-Anhalt in their summer holidays where they look forward to an inspiring course and leisure programme.
