Aletta Haniel Programm

Creating transferability

Seven years ago the Aletta Haniel Program was established at the Aletta Haniel Comprehensive School in Duisburg Ruhrort, Each year 30 eight graders who are in danger of graduationg badly or not at all have the chance to take part. They are supported with individual tutoring and the results are compelling. Nearly all of them improve their graduation and about a third find an apprenticeship training position right after.

To share experiences and to transfer certain moduls to other schools in 2016 a project documentation was published. You can find the documentation here (only in German).

Cooperation project education as an opportunity

A skydive into graduation

A few weeks ago Haniel Foundation launched an appeal for the school project „Jump into life“ of the Aletta-Haniel-Gesamtschule and the Erich-Kästner-Gesamtschule in Duisburg. Seven students took the chance of a skydive out of the airplane – thanks to numerous sponsors. We are impressed by so much courage. You can watch the jump of the students and an interview with one of the responsibles also at the „Lokalzeit“ of the WDR.

Both Teach First Fellows are part of the Cooperation Project „Education as a chance“. You can find further information here.
